MJF says he and Bad Bunny are mutual admirers of each other, and he is happy to see the rapper and avowed wrestling fan perform at the Super Bowl. The two both appeared in Happy Gilmore 2, and MJF, who has spoken about their mutual respect in the past, was asked about him in an interview with Compas On the Beat.

The AEW World Champion reiterated that they love each other’s work and went on to talk about Bunny performing in the Super Bowl halftime show this weekend. He also spoke about where his own passion for wrestling comes from. You can see the highlights below:

On Bad Bunny:

“He’s a massive MJF mark. He told me how much he loves my stuff. I love his stuff, I think he’s supremely talented. I think it’s incredible to have a Hispanic man be the main attraction for the Super Bowl halftime show. Correct me if I’m wrong. How many times has that happened?…”

“But I think for him to be the center of attention, I think it speaks volumes the same way that it did when Kendrick got to be in the center there. I think it’s really cool that we’re showing different races and creeds that haven’t always been allowed to be spotlighted in big-time situations like this. It doesn’t get bigger than either All In at Wembley Stadium — which I believe is August 30th this year — or the Super Bowl when it comes to the biggest things that are going on in professional sports.”

On His Passion For Wrestling:

“My passion comes from my love of professional wrestling, and my love of proving that nobody can touch me in the ring or on the microphone. I think there was a period of time there because I’m so good at talking, people really undersold my ability bell-to-bell. Because when you look through the annals of professional wrestling history when somebody can talk the way that I can talk, they’re normally kind of below average bell-to-bell.

“And I do genuinely feel I’ve proven that I am the most complete professional wrestling talent in the world today. And I feel this proves it more than anything, the grandest prize of them all. The Triple B, the AWW World Championship, the belt of all belts, the championship of all championships on the King of all Kings, Maxwell Jacob Freriedman.”
