MJF showed up at WrestlePro’s event on Saturday night in order to set up a match with Pat Buck for next month. The AEW World Champion appeared at the independent promotion’s 10th anniversary show on April 4th and confronted Buck, the founder and owner of the company.
As you can see below, Buck was closing out the show when MJF’s music played and he came down to the ring. MJF thanked Buck for giving him and others the opportunities to make it in the wrestling industry, before giving him a low blow kick. He then said that it makes him sick that Buck takes the credit for his success. He started to walk away and Buck challenged him fort WrestlePro’s show on May 31st, which was then made official.
MJF worked for WrestlePro from 2016 through 2019. During his time there, he had a run with Valerio Lamorte as the WrestlePro Tag Team Champions. He is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty next Sunday, which takes place on April 12th from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia and airs live on PPV.
