As previously reported, former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin and Myla Grace were recently granted their releases from TNA Wrestling after they requested them. Fightful Select now has more details on their exits.

Not long after the news emerged, Maclin issued a statement and confirmed that he voluntarily requested his release. Fightful Select reports that Maclin wanted to keep the word of his departure quiet, but TNA issued a press release announcing the news, which is something the company rarely does. The press release also announced the exit of Grace as well.

It’s said that neither Myla Grace nor Steve Maclin were consulted ahead of issuing the press releases regarding their respective exits. Maclin had been outspoken in the past about his frustrations with the company’s creative direction, and he was reportedly among a number of talent who didn’t believe the creative issue had improved after iMPACT! moved to AMC.

Also, Fightul notes that the pay scale was something that’s been discussed internally, as the majority of TNA talent are not on full-time salaried deals. Many of the deals have been moved to short-term ones, and that continues to be the case after the shift to AMC.

Additionally, Fightful reports that Maclin is expected to have interest from companies outside of TNA. There’s no word on interest in Grace yet, but sources in AEW and WWE said they wouldn’t be surprised if she lands in another company eventually.
