Netflix has reportedly censored an instance of blood on WWE TV again, doing so in the replay of last week’s episode of WWE Raw. PWInsider reports that a “glitching” effect was added to the backstage segment from last week’s show that featured Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Sami Zayn. The effect masked the fact that Rhodes was bleeding due to Gunther’s attack that started the show.
WWE previously censored the blood at WWE Night of Champions when Bron Breakker’s head got busted open during his steel cage match with Seth Rollins. The blood was only censored on the Netflix replay and not the ESPN Unlimited replay. It is worth noting that Netflix airings and replays are rated TV-PG, while the ESPN Unlimited/Disney+ airings and replays have no TV rating.
Gunther’s attack on Rhodes on last week’s WWE Raw resulted in the latter’s being unable to compete against Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Championship. That opened the door for CM Punk to make his return, challenging Zayn and winning the title.
