Award-winning actor and part-time wrestler Paul Walter Hauser shut down his X account after he faced significant backlash following comments regarding the late wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Nick Bockwinkel. Hauser faced backlash on his social media account during an argument, which included Jim Cornette (h/t eWrestlingNews).

Hauser was clapping back at criticism of an NXT match involving wrestlers Mason Rook and Jackson Drake. Cornette does not think highly of the rookie NXT Superstar, whom Cornette has insultingly called “Chaz Bono” and a “waterbed.”

Hauser later responded, “Watch & listen to the crowd. The people who paid MONEY to watch this show are LOVING it. They do not care about the Twittersphere’s ‘wiser Than Thou’ disdain parade. Sorry it didn’t meet your Nick Bockwinkle requirements. They got over & had fun. Welcome to wrestling in 2026.”

Cornette later responded harshly to Hauser’s comments, writing, “It’s friends and family who got free tickets watching Chaz Bono endure oxygen deprivation, turdblossom. You couldn’t have parked Nick Bockwinkel’s car. **** off.”

Hauser fired back, stating, “My children & their generation will never know or care who Nick Bockwinkle is or was. Doesn’t diminish his legacy/talent/what he gave. It’s just the truth, Jimmy. The coming generation will likely watch, & enjoy, Mason Rook & Jackson Drake. Boo. Hoo.”

Hauser’s comments sparked a wave of controversial responses, leading to the actor eventually deactivating his account. Cornette sought to get the last word in, later commenting, “Rook won’t be around long enough for a housefly’s generation to enjoy. The problem is idiots in the business who are marks for show biz a**holes who are marks for wrestling letting them play in our profession & making them believe they should have opinions. See Hauser, Dumb***.”

Mason Rook also directly responded to one of Cornette’s earlier comments, writing, “Thanks Jim, I’m so grateful all my friends and family from England were in attendance last night.” Cornette replied, “I didn’t mean YOUR SPECIFIC friends and family, you human waterbed, or there wouldn’t have been enough people in the crowd to count to 15 on their fingers.” You can view that exchange below:
