Raj Dhesi Defends Ridge Holland, Explains Financial Burden of Being a WWE Superstar

Former WWE Superstar and WWE Champion Raj Dhesi (aka Jinder Mahal) has come to the defense of former WWE Superstar Ridge Holland, whose WWE contract was terminated last week after he made comments regarding his recent injury and remarked that he felt “left hung out to dry” by WWE.

When a fan commented that WWE doesn’t provide financial education for its wrestlers like Ridge Holland, Raj Dhesi chimed in on social media, explaining that WWE does have those programs. However, he pointed out that, despite what a WWE or NXT wrestler might make under their contract, they still have significant financial expenses that the contract doesn’t cover.

The former WWE Champion explained, “WWE does have financial education programs. Just curious — how much do you think NXT talent make when you subtract travel, wrestling gear, maintaining a professional athlete physique, gym, and supplements… now subtract taxes.” He continued, “Now, with what’s left, try raising a family, paying for groceries, rent/mortgage, car payments, and personal health insurance for you and your family.”

Raj Dhesi added, “Now factor in not being able to earn income due to injury. Finally, add the fact that you no longer have WWE-provided health insurance for wrestling-related injuries — and you’re staring at a possible neck surgery.”
