Rhea Ripley On Beating Up Kevin Owens & Slamming Luke Gallows: ‘I Love Fighting The Guys’
Rhea Ripley hasn’t been afraid to get physical with guys on WWE TV, and she says it’s something she loves to do. Ripley had a habit of taking out guys at the ringside area when she was part of the Judgment Day. She attacked Owens during Owens and Sami Zayn’s feud with the group, and famously bodyslammed Gallows back in 2022 on an episode of Raw.
Ripley was asked about those moments during an appearance for ESPN looking at her career highlights. She noted that she loves beating up Owens and said that she’s always enjoyed proving that girls can hang with guys. She also said with a laugh that when she got back from the segment with Gallows, Damian Priest pointed out that she didn’t even sell how heavy he was. You can see the highlights below:
On Beating Up Kevin Owens:
“I love beating Kevin’s ass. That’s my favorite… It’s just fun. I love fighting the guys in general, I really love beating up the the men. I always have. Like since being a kid, I remember growing up and like literally beating my friends’ ass just because they would say like, ‘Girls aren’t as strong as guys. Guys are so much stronger than girls.’ And I was like, ‘All right, well bring it then. And I’d make them cry every time. So I don’t know if it’s still part of my childhood that’s like shining through, but I love beating up the men. And Kevin Owens is one that I’ve targeted a lot. And he’s just fun to beat up.”
On What Owens Said Beforehand:
“I remember beforehand he came to me, he’s like, ‘Please just don’t kill me.’ And I was like, ‘You know I get excited.’ I get so excited when like it’s involving a man, I don’t know why. So, I was like, ‘I will try not to kill you, but if I do, I’m really sorry.'”
On Bodyslamming Luke Gallows:
“When I picked up Gallows, that was definitely one [where she impressed herself]. I was like, ‘He’s a big boy.’ I got him up real easy and I remember slamming him down. I just went nuts and I was like, ‘I am who I am.’ Like, I started screaming. ‘I’m Rhea Bloody Ripley!’ And I came back and Priest is like, ‘You didn’t even sell that he was heavy.’ He’s like, ‘You didn’t put over that he’s a big boy.” I was like, ‘I was just so excited, man. I’m sorry, can you blame me?”
