Samoa Joe Says He’ll Be Back in AEW “Sooner Than Later”

Samoa Joe has indicated that his return to All Elite Wrestling may not be far away, telling fans during a recent convention appearance that he expects to be back “sooner than later.” The former AEW World Champion made the comment while speaking to fans at a Monopoly Events gathering, offering one of the first public updates on his recovery.
Joe has been away from in-ring competition since late January. His last match was on January 21, when he defeated Mike Bailey in an AEW match. Shortly afterward, he was removed from television following an injury announcement on AEW Dynamite on January 28.
Subsequent reports indicate that Joe was placed on concussion protocol, which required medical clearance before returning to action. AEW has not announced a specific timetable for his comeback, and the company typically keeps recovery updates private until a performer is cleared.
“We’ll be back at AEW sooner than later,” he said.
During Joe’s absence, storyline developments have continued around The Opps. HOOK has been featured more prominently within the group while Joe recovers. The shift has allowed AEW programming to keep the faction active while its leader remains off television.
Joe’s eventual return could reconnect him with several ongoing storylines. Prior to the injury, he remained near the top of the roster following his AEW World Championship run and subsequent loss to MJF.
