Tony Khan informed Sareee not to worry about missing the Owen Hart Tournament, letting her know that the door to AEW is by no means forbidden to her. As previously reported, Sareee was forced to withdraw from competing in the Owen Hart Tournament, as she wasn’t medically cleared to compete.
Saree was ultimately replaced in the tournament by Maya World, who beat Skye Blue in a stunning upset in their tournament bout. Sareee shared a message on social media today, noting her disappointment in having to withdraw from the tournament and apologizing to the fans for not being able to compete.
She wrote, “I was very disappointed that I couldn’t participate in this great tournament, and I apologize to the fans who were excited for it. I definitely want to return to AEW. Looking forward to that day. 🌞 #AEW #Sareee”
AEW President Tony Khan later wrote a consoling response, telling Sareee that no apologies are necessary and the door to AEW is still open to her anytime. He wrote, “No apologies are necessary! Heal up, good luck in your recovery, and you’re welcome to come back here anytime, the door to @AEW is open for you!”
