If ESPN host Stephen A. Smith doesn’t have his hands full with the Danhausen curse on his favorite basketball team, he may have an even more menacing opponent in his future.

Smith was recently on Logan Paul’s podcast, and he joked about how Paul Heyman’s status as #1 manager might be in trouble if he were to enter the WWE scene. Heyman has previously dismissed Smith, having notably smacked him down on Twitter in 2022.

According to Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this may not all be just talk. Backstage talk about doing something with Smith in WWE storylines has been heating up, with an apparent offer to be a manager that Smith shot down. Smith is friends with Nick Khan, and the ESPN relationship is important to TKO. Meltzer notes that Smith is a longtime fan of Heyman, who was recently on his show, and that he mentions him fairly often.

Smith may not be interested in taking bumps from wrestlers, but Heyman is more his size. Both men use their words as weapons when needed, so perhaps there will be a promo battle in the near future after all. The Logan Paul podcast appearances could also enhance any possible conflict with the Vision and their Wise Man.
