Tatum Paxley Retains Women’s North American Title on WWE NXT, Attacked By Blake Monroe

Tatum Paxley retained the Women’s North American Title on this week’s NXT, but found her celebration cut short when Blake Monroe attacked. Paxley defeated Izzi Dame in a steel cage match in the main event of Tuesday’s show, battling her rival tooth and nail with the title on the line.
The finish of the math came when Dame powerbombed Paxley into the cage twice, and went for a third time. However, Paxley countered with a Code Red onto a chair. She hit Dame with the chair and nailed her Cemetery Drive finisher to get the win and retain her title.
After the match, Paxley was celebrating on the ramp when a trap door opened and Monroe pulled Paxley under the stage. She then came back up to grab the Women’s North American Championship as the show went off the air. You can see highlights below.
Paxley’s title reign is now at 11 days. She won it from Dame at NXT Vengeance Day. Monroe is a former champion who lost the title to Thea Hail on the December 16th episode of NXT in a highly contoversial finish, which Monroe has blamed on the referee in NXT storylines.
