On the latest episode of Six Feet Under, The Undertaker and Michael Hayes talked about the 2018 tag team match at Crown Jewel between DX and The Brothers of Destruction. The match was universally panned, and Shawn Michaels even has said he regretted coming out of retirement for the bout. You can check out some highlights below:
The Undertaker on the Match:
“We’ll forget about Saudi and that catastrophe.”
Hayes on Watching It:
“I watched that about a year and a half ago, and I just laughed through the whole thing.”
Undertaker On the Match Bombing:
“You can’t help it [laughing]. Now you can’t. It was very serious that day and that night. But now it’s like, ‘I need to laugh about something.’ Who has on their bingo card that Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Kane, and Undertaker have a complete bomb? Everything that could go wrong was gonna go wrong.”
Hayes on Putting It Together:
“It was snake bit… it wasn’t easy to put together, if you recall. We were going back and forth, back and forth on things. And I remember, this was early into our trips to Saudi. And we were on a call with Vince, or at least I was on the call. Everybody else was there with him. And, you know, ‘I need something new. They want new stuff, stuff we’ve never seen.’ I said, ‘Well, I don’t think we’ve ever seen the Brothers of Destruction against DX.’ ‘God, I love it.’ I said, ‘Good luck getting Shawn to come out of retirement.’ (Vince said) ‘I can do that.’
“I loved it, Shawn came back through gorilla [and said], ‘That’s it! Never again!’
