Thunder Rosa Captures Mexican National Women’s Title at Last Night’s CMLL Viernes Espectacular

Thunder Rosa has added some more wrestling gold to her ranks. The AEW star and former Women’s World Champion was in action last night at CMLL Viernes Espectacular, where she competed against India Sioux.

Rosa defeated Sioux and won the Mexican National Women’s Championship. She hit Sioux with the Fire Thunder Driver to pick up the win and the title. Rosa previously earned a title shot after winning an elimination bout on the July 19 CMLL show.

Sioux’s run with the title ends at 511 days. This marks the first CMLL title win for Thunder Rosa during her career. She previously signed a contract with CMLL, becoming a wrestler with a dual AEW and CMLL contract, earlier this year.

Thunder Rosa last competed on AEW TV on the Beach Break edition of Dynamite, wrestling in the #1 Contendership Casino Gauntlet Match that was won by Willow Nightingale. You can view a clip of Thunder Rosa’s title victory below:
