Tommaso Ciampa has arrived in AEW, making his debut on this week’s AEW Dynamite to issue a challenge to Mark Briscoe. Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite saw Ciampa make his debut for the company as he came out to the ring following Briscoe’s successful defense of the TNT Championship. Briscoe defeated El Clon to retain the title.

Following the match, Briscoe announced an open challenge for this weekend’s episode of AEW Collision. The lights in the venue went out and Ciampa appeared, popping the crowd. He came down to the ring to stare off with Briscoe and the match was confirmed for Saturday’s show.

This marks Ciampa’s debut for the company after he officially exited WWE earlier this week. His profile was moved to WWE’s alumni section just yesterday.

Ciampa was part of WWE from 2015 through 2026. During his time with the company, he was known for his rivalry and alliance as #DIY with Johnny Gargano. Ciampa was a two-time NXT Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a NXT Tag Team Champion. All the tag title runs were with Gargano.

You can see highlights from the TNT Championship match and Ciampa’s debut below. As of now, AEW has not confirmed whether Ciampa is officially signed to the company.
