During last night’s post-show media scrum for ROH Death Before Dishonor 2025, ROH boss Tony Khan explained opting to postpone the ceremony of Taz being inducted into the 2300 Hardcore Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony was originally scheduled for tonight’s episode of Collision. However, Khan explained that they postponed the occasion so Taz could bring more of his family to the event. The ceremony has now shifted to the September 3 edition of AEW Dynamite, which is also being held at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
Tony Khan on why they postponed the induction ceremony for Taz: “He asked for more time to get his family and everybody lined up. Taz did ask if I could please postpone the surprise induction for [Collision] until Wednesday. I have granted that stay for him. Tomorrow (on Collision), we were planning to raise Taz up into the rafter, but it was a surprise, and he tried to get his family and everybody lined up.”
On postponing the ceremony until Dynamite on September 3: “He said, ‘Can you wait until Wednesday, please?’ We’re going to wait until Wednesday. It’s from him. It’s the least we can do for Taz. It is a real honor for us to do that for him in this building.”
AEW previously paid tribute to the hardcore legend and former ECW World Champion on last week’s Dynamite. The tribute to Taz will no continue on next week’s show, as AEW continues its residency in the 2300 Arena, formerly the ECW Arena.
