Tony Khan Reveals That Jay White Was Cleared to Return to Competition Last Week

Jay White has had some moments at previous AEW Forbidden Door events, but perhaps none sweeter than his return to AEW last night from multiple injuries that have kept him out of action since early 2025. White assisted Cope & Cage in their match against the Dogs, a group led by the man that took control of Bullet Club after his departure from New Japan, David Finlay. White now gets to return to AEW competition and hopefully get revenge against old enemies.
Tony Khan discussed Jay White’s return during the post-show media scrum, and revealed that White had just been cleared to return last week.
On Jay White Being Cleared to Return & the Bang Bang Gang’s Feud with the Dogs:
“I love the Bang Bang Gang and I think it’s worked great that there has been a lot of friction between the Bang Bang Gang and the Dogs particularly as of late. And even though Jay White has not been on the shows, the Bang Bang Gang has been represented and we’ve seen the Bang Bang Gang allude that there was going to be comeuppance for the Dogs and there was comeuppance for the Dogs. Jay White came and he got some payback. I thought Forbidden Door was the perfect place for him to make his return, given how he arrived here in the first place. And given the way he was exited from New Japan Pro Wrestling and that David Finlay arrived into AEW, uh it just tied everything together perfectly…
Jay White actually just officially got cleared this week. So this was something we were hoping he was going to get cleared. He has just been physically cleared and its huge excitement. So this was something we were hoping and aiming towards and working for and it came out and worked perfectly.”
