On the latest episode of What Happened When with Tony Schiavone, the AEW broadcaster discussed Mark Briscoe and Taz. Schiavone has been calling matches alongside Taz for most of AEW’s run at this point, while Briscoe has been in several high-profile feuds of late including MJF and Kyle Fletcher. You can check out some highlights below:
On Mark Briscoe’s Professionalism:
“I think we can definitely say, and I think everybody watching would agree with this, that Mark Briscoe is one of the great kids.”
On Briscoe Being Well-Liked:
“He’s one of those guys that is universally liked backstage. Everybody likes Mark Briscoe. Every one of the wrestlers likes Mark Briscoe. And the guys in production, the announcer crew, and Tony Khan, everybody likes Mark. He’s just a down-to-earth guy, man.”
On Working Alongside Taz in AEW Being a Highlight:
“I mean, two reasons about Taz. Number one, when I first saw him and hadn’t watched any ECW. And we first started watching this on this podcast, I went, ‘That’s son of a bitch is a badass, man.’ That’s why I love watching his matches because it was legit, right? I mean, he was just a badass.
“Then I got to meet him, and he and I have some great conversations about a lot of about baseball, about a lot of stuff. And when he gets going and he gets upset, it’s the best. It’s the absolute best. Because — well, it’s Taz. You would have to know what I’m you’d have to know him to love him. But, yeah, it’s one of the great joys of me returning to wrestling.”
