Triple H recently weighed in on the rise in childhood obesity, noting that he believes inverting the food pyramid is “the correct call.” As previously noted, the WWE CCO wrote a piece for Fox News Digital talking about his involvement in reviving the Presidential Fitness Test. Triple H was present at the White House in 2025 when President Trump revived the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition.

Triple H appeared on FOX News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle for an interview discussing his guest column. He spoke with Kayleigh McEnany about the piece, and you can see highlights sent along by the network below:

On the Increase in Childhood Obesity:

“Yes, it’s mind-boggling when you look at those numbers, a 270 percent increase from 50 years ago. One in five kids is obese. And statistically they will spend the rest of their life obese. They will have chronic diseases because of it. And we can change that. And the biggest significant change you can make is exercise and nutrition. It’s not treating it down the line. It’s treating it now, while you’re young.

“I truly believe that most nutritionists that disagree with it, it’s because they were taught wrong from the beginning. They were taught nutrition in the wrong way. The flip of the food pyramid is the correct call. I just think that that is in children’s best interest. And exercise, health, people, they just need to put down their phones, get out there, exercise. These kids need to get healthy, work out, play, go outside, ride a bike, play basketball, play baseball, do something active every day. Get yourself fit. Get yourself healthy.

On the Notion that Eating Healthy Requires Fighting ‘the Entire Food System’:

“Look, to say that you’re fighting a system, I don’t know. When I go to a grocery store, there are still fruits and vegetables there. There are still whole foods. There are still whole milks. There are still meats and healthy foods that you can eat. You don’t have to eat processed foods. You don’t have to eat the junk that comes along with it.

“And the inversion of the food pyramid, to me, is the correct call. Nutritionally, there’s a reason why people are in the shape that they’re in, one in five kids, which, you said, 270 percent increase from 50 years ago… What was the difference 50 years ago? The food pyramid wasn’t seen in the way that it was. So people’s nutritional guidelines changed, the way they ate, the way they exercised. We have got to get back to the basics, eating whole foods, nutritionally sound foods.”
