Triple H Reinstates Nick Aldis as WWE SmackDown GM

Nick Aldis is back in his role as the general manager of WWE SmackDown.
As noted, Aldis delivered an exceptional performance on his WWE in-ring debut against Gunther at SummerSlam: Minnesota Night One. However, that wasn’t enough for him to secure a victory, as the Ring General forced him to submit.
Cathy Kelley caught up with Aldis at the SummerSlam 2026 Post Show. Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque interrupted the interview, leading to Nick offering his resignation letter to the former.
Aldis noted that he gave up his position as SmackDown GM to get in the ring with Gunther but ultimately came up short. He thanked Triple H for the opportunity and handed over the resignation letter.
In response, Triple H praised Aldis for being a man of his word and said that, despite the outcome of the match, he was proud of what Nick did tonight. He subsequently tore apart the letter and reinstated Aldis as the SmackDown GM.
