WWE has an updated card for WWE Backlash following this week’s episode of Smackdown. Friday night’s episode featured the announcement of a WWE United States Championship rematch for next weekend’s PLE.
The episodes saw Sami Zayn secure a shot at the championship he lost to Trick Williams at WrestleMania when he destroyed the Gingerbread Man costume. Williams came down to the ring, but Zayn was able to escape.
After the segment, Williams was interviewed by Cathy Kelley backstage and was informed that the Gingerbread Man didn’t make it. Trick then said that he would beat Zayn at Backlash.
Also announced was a match pitting The Miz and Kit Wilson vs. Danhausen and a partner not yet known. Danhausen was laid out by the two heels on Friday’s show and was granted a match at the PPV, but he must find a partner.
