Will Ospreay Wins Owen Hart Tournament, World Title Shot At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Will Ospreay had a bloody war with Swerve Strickland in the main event of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, proving victorious to win the 2026 Owen Hart Tournament. Ospreay faced Strickland in the finals of the tournament at Sunday’s PPV, with the two fighting tooth and nail for the victory.

The back and forth battle saw both Ospreay and Strickland wear the crimson mask as they inflicted violence upon each other. The 35 minute match finally came to an end when, after the two traded finishers and the Death Riders came to ringside to cheer Ospreay on, he hit a Paradigm Shift followed by a Death Rider, then a Tiger Driver ’91 to secure the win and the title shot at Alkl In: London.

You can see clips from the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door match below. Ospreay will now challenge the AEW World Championship at All In London on August 30th. It is his first Owen Hart Tournament win, having made it to the finals last year before losing to Hangman Page.
