Will Ospreay Reacts to Jeff Cobb Attacking Callum Newman at NJPW G1 Climax 36 Finals

AEW star Will Ospreay has reacted to Jeff Cobb attacking United Empire’s Callum Newman and siding with Unbound Co. at NJPW G1 Climax 36 Finals.

As noted, Cobb returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling this past weekend. After Callum Newman, HENARE, and Great-O-Khan defeated Unbound Company’s OSKAR, Yuto-Ice, and Daiki Nagai in a trios match, the two sides continued to brawl before Gedo brought out Cobb.

Cobb appeared alongside former tag team partner Newman. However, instead of rejoining the United Empire, the former WWE Superstar attacked Newman and aligned himself with Unbound Co.

Earlier today, former United Empire leader Will Ospreay reacted to Jeff Cobb’s betrayal via social media. He wrote:

“Seems you’ve got a big problem on your hands, @PrinceofpaceCN!”

Cobb was one of the earliest members of the United Empire alongside Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan, and Bea Priestly. He and Callum Newman, who joined the group in June 2023, briefly held the IWGP World Tag Team Championship in April 2025. Cobb signed with WWE last year and performed on SmackDown as JC Mateo. He was a part of an extended list of talents who were let go by the company as part of its post-WrestleMania budget cuts this past April.

Cobb has since explained his actions at the NJPW G1 Climax 36 finals. Check his comments RIGHT HERE.
