AEW has announced a number of matches for AEW Grand Slam Australia following this week’s Dynamite, including a World Championship match. It was announced on Wednesday night’s show that Brody King will challenge MJF for the World Championship. King earned the match by squashing the World Champion in the main event, pinning the champion after he was distracted by Hangman Page. King hit a choke bomb, a cannoball and a Gonzo Bomb for the win in barely over a minute.
In addition, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW Continental Title against Konosuke Takeshita at the show, while the Babes of Wrath will take on Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. Bayne and Ford (dubbed MegaBad) beat Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron in an Eliminator Match to earn the shot.
