– As previously reported, former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay will soon be a free agent, with his current NJPW contract expiring in February 2024. Ospreay has said that he’s open to going to WWE, and he’s also signed with Barry Bloom to help him for his next contract negotiation. Dave Meltzer had more details on what’s next for Ospreay on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
According to Meltzer, WWE is “absolutely” interested in signing Ospreay, and Ospreay “is absolutely going to listen to WWE.” While Ospreay has many factors to consider for his next contract, Meltzer predicted that Ospreay will be “going for the best offer possible.”
The reigning IWGP UK Heavyweight Champion will have a lot of potential suitors looking to sign him early next year, including AEW, NJPW, and the newly revived TNA. Ospreay was in action at last weekend’s Impact Wrestling Bound for Glory 2023 event, beating Mike Bailey in a singles matchup.
