Wrestlenomics has the ratings and viewership numbers for last week’s WWE SmackDown. Last Friday’s show saw Sami Zayn shockingly beat CM Punk to regain the WWE Championship.
The Sept. 11 live USA Network broadcast averaged 1.22 million viewers. Viewership dropped 6% from the previous week’s episode, which was taped earlier.
Ratings held steady in the P18-49 key demographic. WWE SmackDown drew a 0.29 rating, which is consistent with the rating for the Sept. 4 episode in the same key demo.
As mentioned above, Sami Zayn beat CM Punk in the main event, becoming a two-time WWE Undisputed Champion. Also during the show, Rey Fenix successfully defended the AAA World Cruiserweight Title against Ricky Saints. Additionally, Chelsea Green successfully defended her WWE Women’s Title against Nia Jax.
Fans will have to wait for the fallout of Zayn’s title victory until this Friday’s (Sept. 18) episode of SmackDown. The show is being held at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. It will air live on the USA Network starting at 8:00 pm ET.
