Update on Talents WWE Is Searching for Upcoming Brand Split, More Veteran Names Confirmed as Not Having Been Contacted
– The Wrestling Observer has an update on names that have been rumored to make a return for the upcoming WWE brand extension. Previously, Forbes claimed that WWE contacted former top names to return for the brand split. Their list included the likes of Bill Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, and Rey Mysterio. A short time later, Goldberg confirmed to 411mania, “WWE has not called me to be a part of any roster.” Angle himself said that here have not been any talks between him and WWE since the brand split was announced.
According to the latest report from the Observer, while numerous former top names have apparently been contacted by the WWE, two names that have not been approached are Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. In addition, WWE is said to be pursuing independent wrestlers very aggressively. Some talents WWE is looking at are Lucha Underground workers who are contractually able to leave the company at the moment.
Per the report, the buzzword going around backstage in WWE is that they are looking for “coachable” talent and talents they can mold into their own style.
