Bryan Caraway Says He’s In The Mix For a Title Shot

– Bryan Caraway spoke with to mmajunkie.com after last night’s UFC Fight Night 88 event. Here are the highlights…

On Being in The Title Mix: “Sterling, the only guy ranked above him is (Renan) Barao, and Barao moved up to 145 (pounds). (T.J.) Dillashaw and (Urijah) Faber, and Faber’s already fighting for the title. Dillashaw’s already fought for the belt and he has a match lined up with (Raphael) Assuncao, so I think I’m right in the mix.”

On Cody Garbrandt as a Title Contender: “Garbrandt wasn’t even ranked before – I’m not saying he isn’t an amazing, amazing fighter,” said Caraway. “But he wasn’t ranked, so for him to leapfrog above me would be ludicrous. I think I’m the highest ranked guy now that hasn’t fought for the belt.”

On His Issues With Aljamain Sterling: “You can’t talk (expletive) about me, my relationship and everything about me and expect to come to a fistfight and expect to be hunky-dory,” Caraway said. “I was just in the mindset that I was there to do work and beat this guy up, and we hugged afterward. We’re cool afterward, but before, I was in the mindset that I was going out there to kill that guy. “It wasn’t about the animosity, but I’m not going to be friendly, either.”
