Speaking to reporters in a post-fight media scruma (via MMAjunkie), UFC fighter Felipe Silva commented on his successful Octagon debut for the fight card. Below are some highlights.

Silva on getting the knockout: “I’ve always been an athlete who looks for the knockout. So yes, not to talk myself up too much, but I did expect a knockout, possibly in the first round. I knew how qualified my opponent was and I looked for the knockout at all times. I think what makes me stand out as an athlete is that I look for the knockout at all times. I did notice in his game that he’s a bit slow, so I thought I’d beat him with speed.”

Silva on not calling anyone out: “I think it’s a little early for callouts, but I’d like that opportunity (to fight in Brazil in November), and once again I’ll put on a show. It’s always nice getting to know new places. Vancouver was exceptional, a beautiful city – I loved meeting it. But I want to fight in Brazil, with the warmth of the crowd, and I think it will make me very motivated.”

On how he will celebrate his win: “I’m going home feeling like it’s mission accomplished. And to celebrate. I’m very happy, this is a dream coming true the best possible way.”
