A24 Has Not Killed Friday The 13th Series, Despite Report
Despite a report to the contrary, A24 has not shut down development on their planned Friday The 13th series. A report began circulating from Jeff Sneider’s The Insneider that A24 had “pulled the plug” on the series. However, Bloody Disgusting reports that their sources have indicated the series has not been killed and is still happening.
According to the new report, there is some creative retooling going on with the series. Peacock gave the show a straight-to-series order back in 2022, with Bryan Fuller creating the show with A24 under the title Crystal Lake.
The series is described as an “expanded prequel” to the original and would feature Jason Voorhees and his mother Pamela. Adrienne King, who played Alice Hardy in the first and second film, was signed for a recurring role in the planned series.
