The Scream franchise is bringing another cast member whose character has died back in David Arquette. Deadline reports that Arquette has signed on to return to the franchise after his character of Dewey Riley was killed off in 2022’s Scream.
No word as of yet on how Arquette will be back for this film, nor of the movie’s plot. Arquette joins Scott Foley and Matthew Lillard as actors who are returning after their characters died, though in Lillard’s case his potential survival has been teased in the last couple films.
Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown are returning for the seventh film alongside franchise newbies Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, Mark Consuelos and Ethan Embry.
Original Scream writer Kevin Williamson is directing from a script by Guy Busick with a February 27th, 2026 release set.
