On a recent episode of “What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon,” Hornswoggle discussed his time traveling with The New Day and how his persistent bullying of Big E led to a physical confrontation.

Hornswoggle admitted that while he wasn’t bullied himself, he sometimes took on the role of a “closet bully,” targeting certain individuals. Here are the highlights:

On picking on Big E:

“So I rode with those guys for a good amount of time. I bullied Big E a lot. I always bullied Big E. And there’s a famous story — [Why?] Just because he’s big. And I wasn’t bullied growing up, I’m very thankful for that. I wasn’t bullied in WWE. People didn’t want to mess with Fit, and that’s just why. So I was like, the closet bully at times. I picked on Khali a lot. Oh, I would just poke and prod him, and poke and prod him, until he got his hands on me. “No, I’m good for today!'”

On it coming to a head:

“Big E, I poked and prodded. And he actually texted Woods and Kofi. ‘I don’t know if I can put up with Dylan. He just keeps bullying me. He won’t stop.’ So they’re finally like, ‘Just put him in his place. Just put him in place.’

“And I always had a backpack. I always had a backpack with all my stuff, my entertainment stuff. My laptop, just stuff in it. We were walking into a building, bullying him that day. And he just walked in behind me, and he booted me from the backpack. Boom! I — as Kofi describes it, I Superman up. I landed right on my face, and my backpack hit. He didn’t even say a thing. He just walked right past. And I literally got up. I look at Kofi and go, ‘Breaking point? He goes, ‘Yeah, I think that was his breaking point today.’”

On understanding the situation:

“I literally walked beside him, ‘I deserved that.’ He goes, ‘Oh, I know you did!’ I would like to say it stopped, but it didn’t stop. I just [kept going]. It was friendly. It was never like mean-spirited. Very, very much like the little dog in Looney Tunes.”
