TNA Details How Stipulation Will Work For X-Division Title Match At TNA Lockdown

Leon Slater is putting his previous X-Division Championship reign on the line for a shot at the title at TNA Lockdown, and TNA has announced exactly how that will work. As noted, Slater will challenge Cedric Alexander for the X-Division Title at the PPV. Slater agreed to the stipulation set forth by Alexander that if he loses, Slater’s previous TNA X-Division Championship reign will be erased.

Fans have had a lot of questions as to how this will work, and TNA shared a post on Twitter today outlining the matter.

The post reads:

“@LEONSLATER_ agreed to an unprecedented stipulation in order to get his X-Division Title rematch against @CedricAlexander this Sunday at #TNALockdown – if he loses, his X-Division Title reign will be erased from history. But what does that actually mean in practice:

* Leon Slater’s reign would no longer be recognized by TNA Wrestling.
* The title history will officially recognize the title moving from Moose to Cedric Alexander with a period of inactivity during Leon Slater’s reign.
* Amazing Red would once again be recognized as the youngest X-Division Champion in history.
* Austin Aries would be the sole holder of the record for longest X-Division Title reign.”

TNA Lockdown takes place on August 23rd from the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois and airs live on TNA+. The full card thus far is:

* TNA World Tag Team Championship Cage Match: The Hardys vs. Nemeth Brothers.
* TNA Knockouts World Championship Match: Xia Brookside vs. Elayna Black.
* TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship Cage Match: DemonXBunny vs. The Elegance Brand.
