Kris Statlander Reflects On AEW Women’s Division Rise, Says Skye Blue Deserves More Attention

Kris Statlander is proud of how far the AEW Women’s Division has come, and says that Skye Blue deserves more of a spotlight. Statlander has been one of the centerpieces of a division that was initially not given a lot of focus in AEW’s early days, but has grown particularly over the past year.

Statlander was asked about the evolution of the division in her interview with 98 Rock Baltimore. She attributed it in part to the work ethic of the talent and, when asked about which member of the women’s roster deser ves more attention, named Blue. You can see highlights below:

“Well, I appreciate you saying that. And I think it’s not just a testament to the women that we have, or the amount of women that we have. We have so many women that are so talented, and also are willing to put in the work day after day. And like, nobody slacks off, nobody wants to take it easy, nobody wants to take a day off. They all wanna just put their best foot forward, no matter what they’re doing. And I really hope people can see that when we’re on TV or when we’re performing in front of them. I hope they know that like, we’re all doing our absolute best no matter what to live up to those expectations of what a women’s division could be.”

On What Women’s Talent Needs More Attention:

“I feel like there’s a lot of women that still are kind of like on the right on the edge of like about to get their moment and like, they deserve it more than anyone. Honestly, I would say as much as I have gone against her, Skye Blue is one of them.”
