CM Punk Comments on His WWE Title Loss: ‘I Will Get My Title Back’

At last night’s WWE SmackDown, Sami Zayn defeated CM Punk to regain the WWE Title. In a post on his Instagram Stories, CM Punk reacted to his title loss.

Despite losing the WWE Undisputed Title after holding it for just under ten weeks, CM Punk is undeterred and confident he will regain the belt. He wrote the following:

“I lost 67 day undisputed title run. At 47. I’d like to say I did it on purpose for my boy @wwejevonevans but nobody wants to lose. Here’s the thing: Winners lose way more than losers do. I don’t have to try again. I get to try again. I didn’t have to come to Mexico. I don’t HAVE to do house shows. I get to. I get to wrestle in front of the best fans in the world in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City. I don’t have to get the title back. I get to try to get the title back. I don’t HAVE to come to work. I GET TO COME TO WORK. So I’ll see you all in Corpus Christi. I will get MY title back. You don’t have to watch. You get to BITW.”

“A sincere final thank you to all the fans in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City. You came out and helped us set records, cheered your hearts out and showered us with love. Truly a wonderful bunch of beauts and a rich fantastic culture. A pleasure to wrestle for you. It has been thirteen years since I saw you all. I promise I’ll be back much sooner next time. ¡VIVA MEXICO!”

CM Punk previously defeated Sami Zayn to win the WWE Undisputed Title at Monday Night Raw in Chicago earlier in July. Punk was an impromptu surprise opponent for Zayn after Cody Rhodes got taken out by Gunther earlier in the show.
