Mick Foley says that he has spoken with Darby Allin about his high-risk wrestling style, but that Allin isn’t going to change things up. Foley did a Sign-it-Live for Highspots Superstore on Thursday, and during the show, he was asked about Allin after the AEW star was thrown off the top of the cage in the Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite. It’s the latest example of Allin taking big risks on AEW TV, a matter which is a regular topic of discussion around him.
“Well, I did (try to talk to Darby Allin about his wrestling style,” Foley said (per Fightful). “I did, and he thanked me for my feedback and told me he was going to continue.”
He continued, “I didn’t say stop. I said, ‘You might wanna calm down.’ He’s like, ‘Well, I appreciate you talking to me, Mick. I really do.’ So somebody asked, ‘I heard you were gonna talk to Darby?’ I did, and he’s gonna keep doing what he does. I will tell you, he was walking very — a little gingerly last night.”
Darby Allin was part of Will Ospreay’s team in Blood & Guts, who lost to the Don Callis Family when Adam Copeland surrendered to save Ospreay. Immediately after, Fletcher told Wardlow to throw Allin off the cage, sending him crashing through a group of stacked-up tables.
