WB Games released a new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 today featuring former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista (aka Batista). You can check out the new trailer in the player below.

The new launch TV spot featuring Bautista is directed by Tom Kuntz and features cinematography by Academy Award nominee Matthew Libatique. It pays homage to the old-school “Mortal Monday” commercial from 1993. Speaking on the classic commercials, Bautista stated, “I vividly remember the original Mortal Monday commercial, especially the iconic scream. That’s what started my journey as a fan of Mortal Kombat, which continues to this day 30 years later. I’m very thrilled and honored to be a part of the game’s legacy.”

The new game is set in the reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by Fire God Liu Kang after the events of the previous game. The game features a new fighting system, game modes, and Fatalities. Returning Kombatants include Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Baraka, Reptile, and Sindel. Mortal Kombat 1 also features a separate roster of “Kameo Fighters” who will be able to offer assists during bouts.

Quan Chi, Ermac, and Takeda will be available as post-launch DLC Kombatants. Guest fighters for the game will also be featured in DLC, including DC’s Peacemaker (John Cena version), Omni-Man (From Invincible), and Homelander (from The Boys). They will all be featured in the Kombat Pack DLC.

Mortal Kombat 1 arrives on September 19 in stores and digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available as a digital release for Windows PC. Players who pre-order the game will receive Shang Tsung as an in-game playable character. Also, players who pre-order the Premium Edition or the Kollector’s Edition will be able to start playing the game earlier on September 14.
