Notes On Internal Reaction To AEW Fight Forever, Easter Eggs
AEW Fight Forever arrives at the end of the month, and a new report has some details on Easter eggs in the game and internal reactions to it. The AEW game arrives on June 29 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. Fightful Select reports that according to those who have played the game, they believe it will be a success based on the multi-player aspect and playability more than anything else.
According to the report, the game has some internal criticism for its creation suite which is not very expansive, as well as concerns about “repetitive clothing” of characters in the story mode. Developers faced some limitation regarding making the story mode, though they took input from the wrestling talent.
The report notes that there is a bit of a rib/Easter egg in the match regarding the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, with two options for the finish: a major explosion or a “dud firework display” similar to the infamous AEW Revolution 2021 misfire. There are also a number of other Easter eggs including size-based characters and weapons, along with others the developers think it will take a while for fans to find.
It’s noted that AEW is retaining the rights to the game engine in case they change their mind regarding a sequel. The original plan was to make it a one-time release with constant updates and DLC. The report also confirms that the game is Steam Deck-compatible and noted that released footage of wrestlers playing the game has been from that version.
