Anthony Pettis Is Down For a Fight Against Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor called out Anthony Pettis after the latter’s win at UFC on ESPN+ 6 last night, and Pettis is down for it. After McGregor posted to Twitter congratulating Pettis on his win and hinting at a fight with him, Pettis said (per MMA Weekly) that it sounded like a good idea to him.
“Let’s do it,” Pettis said. “170, 155, I’m not cutting to [featherweight] again, I’m with it. That’s a fight I think the fans would love to see again, too. Two strikers like that. It would be amazing.”
McGregor’s callout was in response to a post mentioning that Pettis joined Kenny Florian and McGregor himself as the only UFC fighters with wins at featherweight, lightweight and welterweight. McGregor congratulated Pettis and asked “who f**king wants it?” However, McGregor has also said that he would be down for a rematch with Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, and Jose Aldo, so he has no shortage of opponents to pick from.
Welcome to the club and congratulations.
