Belal Muhammed Regrets Not Finishing Jordan Mein At UFC 213

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Belal Muhammad (12-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) said he regretting not finishing Jordan Mein (29-12 MMA, 3-4 UFC) at UFC 213. Muhammed won the fight by unanimous decision. Here are highlights:

On fighting Mein: “I used to watch him a lot when I was coming up in the game. Just because he was young – he’s young, but he’s been in the game for a while. I used to always watch his fights because he’s exciting. It was that type of thing: ‘I’m across from Jordan Mein.’”

On expecting more from the fight: “I feel like he needs to get back mentally first. He needs to go back to the old Jordan. Maybe he’s not doing it for the right reasons now.”

On his regrets: “I trained really hard for this fight; I should’ve had the finish. I’m going to have to go back to the drawing board and fix some things, but I’m just trying to get better every fight.”
