Dana White Says Mario Yamasaki Will Never Referee in the UFC Again

Dana White had harsh words for referee Mario Yamasaki and said that he will never referee in the UFC again. White appeared on UFC Tonight (per MMAjunkie) and ripped Yamasaki following the latter’s controversial decision not to stop the Valentina Shevchenko vs. Priscila Cachoeira fight at UFC Fight Night 125 sooner. Shevchenko beat Cachoeira bloody with 230 strikes compared to the latter’s three.

White dismissed Yamasaki’s defense that Cachoeira was responsive and didn’t tap, saying, “She didn’t tap, and that’s the thing. The reality is, when you’re a fighter – and it’s one of the reasons this sport is as big as it is, because most of you guys don’t tap. Most of you guys stay in there, and she did fight like a warrior. For that idiot to say he gave her the opportunity to be a warrior – no. No, you moron. You’re in there to protect her from herself.”

He added of Yamasaki, “He makes me sick. That guy has no business reffing fights. And I promise you, you’re never going to see him again.”
