Deiveson Figueiredo is good to go following COVID-19 concerns to fight for the flyweight championship at UFC on ESPN+ 30. ESPN has confirmed that Figueiredo has been cleared to fly to UFC Fight Island to face Joseph Benavidez for the title at the show, which takes place this coming Saturday.

There were concerns that Figueiredo would not be able to make the fight after he revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 two months ago, which he and his team believed to be a false positive. While the UFC had a backup plan in Alexandre Pantoja, Figueiredo’s second tesg came back negative so he will fly to Paris and then on to Abu Dhabi for the fight.

He’s not totally out of the clear yet, however, as making weight is a concern. Dana White said that Pantoja’s placement on the card was a backup because “We were more concerned with [the] weight cut.”
