Eduardo Dantas Doesn’t Feel Pressure After Previous Nova Uniao Losses
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Eduardo Dantas said there is no pressure on him for his Bellator 150 title fight, even with the previous losses from his training camp Nova Uniao in Brazil. The camp saw Jose Aldo lose the UFC featherweight belt to Conor McGregor in 13 seconds while Renan Barao lost the UFC bantamweight belt to TJ Dillashaw, then lost the rematch. Dantas (17-4 MMA, 7-2 BMMA) will fight Marcos Galvao (17-6-1 MMA, 7-3 BMMA) for the bantamweight belt at Bellator 150. Here are highlights:
On preparing for his upcoming fight: “I am in one of the best phases in my life and I am feeling very well. I am ready for this fight. It’s because of many reasons. After my defeat to Joe Warren, I learned a lot in wrestling and in the fighting and in the training. That’s why I am feeling so fine. I’m preparing some new skills, and on the day of the fight, everyone is going to see. The first fight, because we were friends, there were a lot feelings involved. But now that this is the second fight there are no feelings anymore. We have already fought each other so there is no feelings this time.”
On if there’s pressure from Nova Uniao: “There’s not any pressure about that. I don’t feel anything like that. Aldo’s fight was something and my fight is totally different so I don’t feel this pressure. Someone has to lose and somebody has to win, so that’s life.”
