Patricky Freire Says Will Brooks Should Come Soon After Saad Awad

Patricky Freire spoke with MMAjunkie about his fight with Saad Awad at Bellator 141 and more. Check out the highlights:

On Bellator officials not caring about his success during his losing streak: “When I entered the (Season 10) tournament, I feel that, once again, they put me in there to get beat up. I know this. All the media coverage was around David Rickels. They put me against him. They wanted me to lose.”

On his fight with Awad: “Awad is a dangerous guy. He has dangerous hands. He has great knockout power. But I guarantee that my knockout power is much greater. I will win this fight and steal his chance to fight for the belt – I will be the one fighting for the belt. I don’t know if I’ll be chosen as the next title challenger, but I know that I will win this fight.”

On Will Brooks: “Will Brooks is a clown. He likes attention. He’s a needy child. He always craves attention. He started messing with me even before my tournament final against Marcin Held. He challenged me and he was already the champion. I had never messed with him before that. I’d always watch his fights. He’s tough and a true athlete, but he talks a lot. He only talks crap. He’s a clown who craves attention. (Twitter) can be a way to sell fights. But he’s talked too much now. A few times, he tried to smile and shake my hand, after talking crap on Twitter. But I’m not interested in talking. My talking will be done when my fist meets his chin.”

On a potential title shot: “I think that if I win this fight, since there are no more tournaments, I’ll be very close to the belt. Brooks and Held are fighting later this year. I wish for another fight as soon as possible so that I keep my fighting rhythm. I don’t want to be idle, as before. If Bellator can keep me busy, I’ll be ready to fight for the belt at any moment.”
