Zhang Weili vs. Rose Namajunas Title Fight Set for UFC 261

The UFC has confirmed that women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili will defend her title against former champion “Thug” Rose Namajunas at UFC 261 next month. You can see the announcement for the upcoming title fight below.

Namajunas seeks to regain the title she lost in May 2019 after suffering a TKO loss to Jessica Andrade at UFC 237. Later in August, Zhang Weili went on to defeat Andrade to capture the title at UFC on ESPN+ 15.

Weili last fought at UFC 248 in March 2020, beating Joanna Jędrzejczyk in a classic contest. Namajunas rebounded from her loss to Andrade after beating her in a rematch last year at UFC 251 in July. Weili is currently on a 21-fight winning streak, and has only lost once in the debut fight of her MMA career. She’s currently 5-0 in the Octagon.

UFC 261 will take place on April 24. It will be broadcast live on pay-per-view via ESPN+.
