Hannah Janssen Talks With 411 About Her Latest Film Forbidden Power

The 411 Interview: Hannah Janssen

Hannah Janssen is an actress appearing in director Paul Kyriazi’s latest movie Forbidden Power as Cathy, a woman who finds herself in a very strange situation with her boyfriend George played by Lincoln Bevers. In this interview, Janssen talks with this writer about making Forbidden Power.

Bryan Kristopowitz: How did you get involved with Forbidden Power?

Hannah Janssen: In the beginning of last summer, I submitted for the part of “Cathy.” A couple months later my agent asked me if I could audition. I met with the producers, read lines, and then finally got the part! It really was a thrill from beginning to end.

BK: How did you approach your character Cathy?

HJ: Cathy’s bottom line was pretty easy to figure out. She loves George. The hard part was figuring out what that means for her career and other things she has going on in her life. It was fun filling in the blanks of the script and creating a Cathy of my own.

BK: What was it like working with both director Paul Kyriazi and co-star Lincoln Bevers?

HJ: It was a blast working with Paul and Lincoln. In fact, the entire cast and crew were so amazing. I’m so honored to have been a part of such a hard working group of people. It really was a treat.

BK: What was the hardest aspect of making Forbidden Power for you? The easiest?

HJ: The hardest part was sprinting in heels during the getaway scene. The easiest part was saying yes to the part.

BK: In the movie your character Cathy gets to engage in some pretty intense action towards the end of the movie. Was that exciting or frightening, exhilarating or nerve wracking?

HJ: To be honest I’m kind of scared of guns, funny enough, so as you can imagine I was pretty nervous at first. While on set, Lincoln gave me some tips and encouragement and, well, I’m glad he did because it ended up being really fun.

BK: Any upcoming projects you can tell us about?

HJ: Nothing official to announce yet, but definitely some fun projects in the works.

BK: If and when there is a Forbidden Power 2, do you think Cathy will continue to stick around with George considering he essentially cheated on Cathy in order to obtain the “forbidden power”? Or, is that something Cathy can “overlook” since everyone who survives at the end of the movie is in serious danger from the evil cabal?

HJ: Cathy is a ride or die for sure. She’s so into George I don’t think an evil cabal is a deal breaker at all. She really believes in George and wants to support him in most everything he does. As for the cheating, Cathy is definitely going to make George pay for it but, again, I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for her. One thing is for sure is she loves George until the very end, whatever end that might be!
