411’s 83nd Annual Golden Globes Report: One Battle After Another, Hamnet Win Top Film Awards

One Battle After Another and Hamnet were the big film winners at the 83rd annual Golden Globes. The two films won Best Motion Picture in the Drama and Musical/Comedy category, respectively, on Sunday night’s show. One Battle After Another led all film wins with four, with additional wins for Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), Best Screenplay (also Anderson), and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Teyana Taylor).

Meanwhile, Hamnet tied with KPop Demon Hunters, The Secret Agent, and Sinners for second place with two awards each. Hamnet earned Jessie Buckley a Best Actress in a Drama award, while KPop Demon Hunters took home the awards for Best Animated Film and Best Song (“Golden”). The Secret Agent earned statuettes for Best Non-English Language Film and Best Actor In a Drama for Wagner Moura. Sinners won Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson.

Adolescence dominated the TV side, sweeping its nominations in the Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or TV Movie categories with four. It won the overall award for the category along with Best Supporting Actress (Erin Doherty), Best Supporting Actor (Owen Cooper), and Best Actor (Stephen Graham). The Pitt and The Studio won Best Drama and Musical/Comedy TV Series, respectively, and each took home a total of two awards each.
