Alec Baldwin Says He’s No Longer Part Of Joker
As we previously reported, Alec Baldwin was set to play Thomas Wayne in the upcoming film Joker, who was described as “a cheesy and tanned businessman who is more in the mold of a 1980s Donald Trump.” It’s believed scheduling conflicts are why he turned down the role.
However, now Baldwin says he’s no longer attached to the role. He wrote on Twitter:
Let me state, for the record, that I have NOT been hired to play a role in Todd Phillips’ JOKER as some Donald Trump manque.
That is not happening.

He then told USA Today: “I’m no longer doing that movie. I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part.”
The film begins shooting in two weeks. It stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron. Todd Phillips will direct from a script he wrote with Scott Silver. Martin Scorsese will produce. It’s expected to have a lower budget and be darker than the current Worlds of DC films.
