Anna Kendrick Plays The Dating Game With a Serial Killer In Woman Of the Hour Trailer

Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut Woman of the Hour tells the real-life story of the Dating Game Killer, and the first trailer is online. VVS Films has released the first trailer for the thriller, which centers on Cheryl Bradshaw who picked Rodney Alcala as her date in a 1977 episode of The Dating Game not knowing he was an active serial killer.

The film is directed by Kendrick from a script by Ian MacAllister McDonald. Kendrick stars as Cheryl opposite Daniel Zovatto as Alcala. Tony Hale, Nicolette Robinson, Kathryn Gallagher, Kelley Jakle, and Autumn Best also star. No release date is yet set for the movie, which is described as follows:

Woman Of the Hour is based on the stranger-than-fiction true story of Rodney Alcala and Cheryl Bradshaw. Bradshaw was a bachelorette on the hit 70s TV matchmaking show The Dating Game and chose handsome and funny bachelor number three, Rodney Alcala. But behind Alcala’s charming façade was a deadly secret: he was a psychopathic rapist and serial killer.
