Dave Bautista Talks Losing Weight, Says He’s The Lightest He’s Been Since 19
Dave Bautista has shed a lot of his wrestling weight, and he talked about doing so in a recent interview. The actor and former wrestler noted in an interview on Insight With Chris Van Vliet alongside Sofia Boutella promoting The Killer’s Game that he is down to 240 pounds and underweight a “challenge” trying to shed the weight.
On losing the weight: “I’m getting super trimmed. This is probably the lightest I’ve been since I was 19 years old.”
On his weight when he was wrestling: “The heaviest I’ve ever been is 370 lbs. When I started Deacon, I was about 325 lbs. And throughout most of my wrestling career, I was about 290 lbs. Now I’m about 240 lbs. And I went a year and a half ago for Knock at the Cabin, I went up to 315 lbs. And that’s when the nightmare started. Like, getting that weight off has been a challenge.”
The Killer’s Game stars Bautista, Boutella, Ben Kingsley, Sofia Boutella, Terry Crews, Pom Klementieff, Scott Adkins and Drew McIntyre. It releases this Friday and is described as follows:
In the new action-comedy The Killer’s Game, when top hitman Joe Flood (Dave Bautista) is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he decides to take matters into his own hands – by taking a hit out on himself. But when the very hitmen he hired also target his ex-girlfriend (Sofia Boutella), he must fend off an army of assassin colleagues and win back the love of his life before it’s too late.
