Hello everyone and welcome to 411mania’s LIVE coverage of UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Horiguchi, I’m Robert Winfree and I’ll be your host. We’re on the heels of one of the most unique events the UFC has ever put on, and they’re following that up by going back to the warehouse for this event. That said the main event is a relevant bout as Manel Kape takes on Kyoji Horiguchi with the winner being the obvious number one contender to the flyweight title. These two met in 2017 in Rizin with Horiguchi finishing Kape in that bout, but Kape was pretty green in MMA back then. Beyond the main event things get a little less compelling, Hyder Amil is usually action though, Murazali Magomedov has a bit of momentum as a prospect, and Vinicius Oliveira’s featherweight debut carries intrigue. On the prelims Bia Mesquita is still looking to march to the title picture, but beyond that it’s fairly slim pickings. But the action could always be good, so let’s hope for that.
UFC Fight Night: Kape vs. Horiguchi comes to the world from the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. We’ve got a new trio on commentary tonight with Dan Hellie heading things alongside Michael Bisping and Daniel Cormier while Joe Martinez does the announcing and Heidi Androl handles the roving reporter duties. We’re in the smaller 25 foot cage but Nevada has all the new rules in place, so there’s that at least.
Shane Collins is undefeated coming into his UFC debut, and he’s going to be trying to make the most of this chance at a first impression. Otari Tanzilovi lost on the Contender Series back in 2024 but he’s coming off of a win as he also makes his UFC debut. Collins is the favorite at -205 to a +170 comeback on Tanzilovi.
Featherweight Bout: Shane Collins (7-0, 145.5 lbs.) vs. Otari Tanzilovi (10-1, 145 lbs.)
ROUND ONE: These two are the same height while Collins has an inch of reach advantage. Calf kick from Tanzilovi to start. Bit of a one two from Tanzilovi. Mic time for Bolanos, he knew Aswell would be tough all through the fight and puts over Aswell. He talks us through some highlights noting Aswell was more patient than expected, then closes saying he finally feels home at featherweight.
Mitch Raposo has gone just 1-2 in the UFC but he is coming off of a win and now looks for his first UFC winning streak. OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Mitch Raposo via split decision (28-29, 29-28 x2)
The second round was close enough that 29-28 for Nascimento isn’t out of line. Mic time for Raposo, he feels he won the first two rounds and should have won the fight, then sends love to his coach who recently lost his father. He feels he just beat a top 15 guy and wants a fight with Edgar Chairez or Brandon Moreno. Those are incredibly unlikely fights for him to get next.
Bia Mesquita is a very decorated jiu-jitsu competitor and is undefeated in MMA including two UFC wins, she’s looking to continue her rapid ascent up the ranks with another win. The First Round Finish Club thanks Mrs. Mesquita for her work. Mic time for Mesquita, she wasn’t surprised to get hit but was prepared to keep pushing through the adversity and showed how dangerous she is. Andre Lima is undefeated including four wins in the UFC, he’s been out of action for a little over a year though and is looking to remind people that he’s a rising talent in the division. Kevin Borjas missed weight for this fight, he’s also just 1-4 in the UFC and is on a two fight losing streak. Borjas could be fighting for his job here as the weight miss and another loss would likely see him cut from the promotion. ROUND TWO: Lima gets back on pressure then lands a calf kick. Another calf kick from Lima, that bothered Borjas for a second. Both men kick at the same time and Borjas took one to the groin so we’ve got a time out. That was a poorly positioned one and Borjas is struggling down on a knee. Borjas is in a real bad way after 3 minutes, this one probably isn’t going to continue. One minute to go and Borjas is barely sitting upright. Borjas is able to get upright at 4:30, he apparently wants to continue. That’s surprising but we do restart. Lima lands a leg kick. SCORECARD: 10-9 Lima, 29-28 Lima overall but almost certainly going to Borjas
OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Kevin Borjas via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 x2)
I’m not sure about Borjas getting the third but him winning is probably correct. Mic time for Borjas, he thanks God and his team, along with love to his family.
Vinicius Oliveira just had a six fight winning streak broken by Mario Bautista, the weight cut to bantamweight was apparently brutal and now Oliveira is looking for renewed success by moving up to featherweight. Andre Fili has been trading wins and losses for basically his entire UFC career, he’s coming off of a loss and hopes that pattern will hold long enough to avoid his first losing streak since 2022. Bit of a right hand from Oliveira then a calf kick behind it. Fili misses a left hand but avoids the counters. Left body kick from Oliveira then a calf kick, but that one was partially checked and Oliveira’s right leg is a little messed up now. Calf kick from Oliveira then a left to the body. Fili lands a jab. Front kick from Oliveira. Fili tries a high kick but that’s smothered but the distance. Body kick from Fili, then another that hurts Oliveira. Another body kick from Fili then a left hand. Hard right hand from Oliveira then a few more in close. Hard right to the body from Oliveira then he avoids counter hooks from Fili. Calf kick from Oliveira then a combination against the fence. Uppercut from Oliveira, then a knee and he looks to unload with body blows. Chopping elbows from Oliveira drops Fili and he flurries against the fence until the ref steps in.
OFFICIAL RESULT: †WINNER – Vinicius Oliveira via TKO, punches, knees, and elbows, at 4:56 of Round 2
That was a fun bit of violence from both men. Mic time for Oliveira, he feels a lot better at featherweight and not as tired and weak as he felt at bantamweight. He talks us through the finish and notes he’s been working a lot on including tomahawk elbows like that. He puts over his team and advocates for a teammate to get into the UFC.
NEW WEIGHT CLASS IS NO PROBLEM 🫡

Melsik Baghdasaryan has gone 3-2 in the UFC but he’s had more fights than that fall through and he’s been out of action since a loss to Jean Silva in February of 2025, now he’s back and looking to avoid his first losing streak. Manel Kape has gone 7-3 in the UFC and is on a three fight winning streak with all of those being finishes. If Kape can avenge his earlier loss to Horiguchi here then he should, by all rights, secure a title shot next. Kyoji Horiguchi is on a seven fight winning streak including two wins since returning to the UFC last year, if he can win here he should get his second crack at the UFC flyweight title. To close he says he spoiled the UFC planning on going to Japan and really wants to fight for the title next then puts over his after party and some sponsors.
